I got you with that title, didn't I? :)
Ah, what a beautiful Saturday! I got to sleep in until 8am after feeding K from 4:15-5:00 this morning. Laundry is done, house is halfway clean (presentable, anyway), and I've got a banana cake cooling, waiting to be frosted with cream cheese frosting. Yum! We're going to Glen's business partner's house for dinner, and I was in charge of dessert. It's definitely not fitting into my sad attempt at a diet, but I'll only have a thin slice. :)
Speaking of diets, no weight loss in 2 weeks. No gain, but no loss. So, this past week I've been taking walks on my lunchbreak to try to get every little bit of exercise in. Pilates at home kicked my butt twice this week, but I guess it's good to know where I stand with my abdominal strength (or lack thereof). Katelyn is finally getting to the point where I can involve her in my exercise without scaring the crap out of her: squats, lunges, chest press, shoulder press, crunches, etc, using her as the weight. This works well if I catch her at the right time/mood.
I also take K in her stroller and try to walk Tech at the same time, but the poor dog just wants to tug and pull until my hand feels like it's ripping off. He used to heel really well during our walks, but I guess this is way of rebelling since our full attention is not on him anymore. Anyone have tips with walking baby and dog at the same time? FYI: No, I will not attach the leash to the stroller, nor will I get one of those straps that go around your waist to attach the leash to. Maybe I should summon the services of one Ceasar Milan?

Katelyn rolling over for the first time 4/13/10
Yesterday, I put K down on her back to play, and I went to the kitchen to grab a drink. I turned around, literally 20 seconds later, and she was on her belly! So what does a good mom do? She turns K onto her back again and coaches her to roll over for mommy! This is the resulting video, and the first time I've witnessed Katelyn fully rolling back to belly, even freeing her arm up and propping. I was so proud! Please ignore the annoying high-pitched mommy voice that I've developed. You know how it goes. :)

Air Humping
No, I'm not talking about something dirty.
It's what Tech, our 4-yr old golden lab, does when he's excited to go outside. This time of year, he's always antsy to get out for a run or walk since it rains 6 out of 7 days a week, and the second we start putting on our shoes, he starts air-humping. He doesn't do it every day, but when he does, I can't help but laugh out loud at the look on his face when he does it. He's like, "What the hell is going on? Aliens are attacking my body! I just want to go outside and play!"
We love you buddy. :)

Bad Mommy and Talented Baby!
I took not one picture on Easter. We didn't color eggs. I didn't buy Katelyn her first Easter basket full of goodies. I did, however, enjoy lovely snuggle time with my little bunny.
And today, she decided to roll over [for the first time] for the babysitter. Twice. Did she do it for mommy when she was able to be there? No.
The defiance is already starting, dammit.

I received the sweetest award from my friend Mama Lungo at The Lungos:

Happy Easter!
As much fun as all the rabbit/chocolate/candy hoopla is, remember the reason for the holiday, enjoy your time with family and friends...and be safe!

Rainy Friday
Nothing like the feeling of getting spit on one second, and the next second a bucket of water dumping on your head. Alas, this is the pacific northwest. I'm thankful that we're not getting the flooding that the east coast has been getting, but still. I want sun! I need my vitamin D! I wanna be able to consistently take a walk outside with the dog and the girl without using one eye as Doppler 8000 looking for rain.
Yesterday, our anniversary, was a great day. I had to go to a work meeting early, but after that, we went to brunch at Mother's Bistro. I had a yummy mimosa, reminiscing about the 3 or 4 I downed the morning of our wedding!
(I wanted to post a pic of me and K here, but dear Glen failed to tell me that I had food in my teeth, so I'll spare y'all the grossness)
Then, we took Katelyn to get her picture with the Easter bunny. She didn't scream, surprisingly, and she even gave us a few smiles. We bought one picture from them (a whopping $15!) but were allowed to use our own camera for as many shots as we wanted. Grandma will be very happy!

Four years ago today.
I married the love of my life, and we had a beautiful wedding:
Our first glance of each other:
Your Grammie was still alive and thriving (may she rest in peace)
You were steadfast and ready, no nervousness in sight.
I, of course, was very emotional.
Our minister was old and funny...who else would announce ("bar's open!") during the recessional?
We're married! Holy cow!
Our Happily Ever After Started.
Honey, I love you so, so much. Here's to 50+ more years to come.
